Biography: Dr. Mulhern received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University. She then went on to study animal behavior and ecology at the University of California at Berkeley where she completed a Masters degree. She returned to the east coast to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where she received her MD degree. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, in 1998, and has been working as a general internist in Manhattan since completion of her training.

Biography: Dr. Kara Greenwald received her undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester and her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She was a member of the Rochester Early Medical Scholars Program. After medical school, she moved from Rochester, NY to New York City and completed her internal medicine residency training in 2011 at the New York University School of Medicine (NYUSOM). Before joining Weill Cornell Medicine Primary Care in 2017, Dr. Greenwald worked at Bellevue Hospital Center as a primary care physician, hospitalist, and assistant professor of general internal medicine at NYUSOM. Dr. Greenwald is also passionate about the topics of patient safety and quality improvement in medicine.  

Care Philosophy: My approach to patient care is to listen to the patient intently and to commit my full attention to the patient's concerns. Very often the diagnosis becomes clear just from patient input and information. My main areas of interests include hepatitis and biliary problems. Inflammatory bowl disease is growing concern in Brooklyn, and HIV afflictions in our community and its impact on the bowel is a challenge to our speciality.

Biography: Dr. Corey Wasserman, formerly Dr. Waxman, graduated from Bucknell University and received her Medical Degree from Jefferson Medical College in 2011. She completed her pediatric residency at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr. Wasserman’s professional interests include preventive care, developmental pediatrics and public outreach through medical journalism. She is a frequent contributor to various media outlets and has been featured on several prominent online blogs as well as on television.Dr. Wasserman has a passion for creating meaningful relationships with families and embraces her role in nurturing each patient’s physical, emotional and cognitive development from the newborn period through late adolescence.

Care Philosophy: Before joining the staff of Weill Cornell Medical Associates, Dr. Smerd worked as a primary care doctor at the Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital and at Odyssey House, a therapeutic drug community in Spanish Harlem. She was named chief resident after completing her medical residency at New York University. Dr. Smerd studied medicine at the Sackler School of Medicine/NY State program in Tel Aviv, Israel. She has also lived in Kathmandu and traveled the countryside of Nepal researching Vitamin A deficiency. She earned her bachelor's degree from Vassar College, where she graduated with a major in Women's studies focusing on Anthropology. Though originally from Pittsburgh, Dr. Smerd now lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.

Care Philosophy: We will do everything we can to serve you promptly, thoroughly, and with the thoughtfulness and compassion that your child deserves.I joined the staff here at the Komansky Center for Children's Health at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center immediately after graduating from medical school in 1986, and have never left. As a parent, I understand the anxiety that accompanies any doctor visit, especially one for subspecialty evaluation of a potential problem. I know that where a child's care is concerned, there are no bad questions and no trivial worries. Feel free to ask away. I'll finish explaining sometime after you're tired of listening. Don't feel that you should leave until you are confident that you understand your child's condition -- even if, as is often the case, that condition is perfect cardiac health and that your questions and concerns have been addressed.

Biography: Dr. Sherry Huang graduated Summa Cum Laude from the City College of New York and received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Huang is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.Before joining Weill Cornell, Dr. Huang worked at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in New York City for 13 years as a Senior Pediatrician and Co-Director of the Pediatric Special Needs Program. In addition to a busy clinical practice, Dr. Huang was instrumental in the creation and leadership of a support program for parents of children with special health care needs, and was successful in improving the systems of care for such children and their families.Dr. Huang joined Weill Cornell in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and the Site Medical Director of the 156 William Street location.
